Diet Paratha Family Tree Mentoring and Bold Steps Bottle Terms and Condition (the "Competition")

1. The Competition is open to all residents of Great Britain aged 18 or over.

2. Employees of the Promoter , RanaVerse UK, 869 High Road, London N12 8QA and Diageo Great Britain Limited and (in each case) its affiliate companies, their families and anyone deemed to be professionally involved with or connected to the Competition are not permitted to enter the Competition.

3. The Competition is free to enter and no purchase necessary.

4. To enter the Competition, you must use the design template provided on the Diet Paratha website to create a unique design for a limited-edition Johnnie Walker Black Label bottle, inspired by your own creative expression. The accompanying application form must also be completed which includes the requirement to describe the inspiration behind your design. Entries must be received between 22nd  January 2023, 03:00pm GMT and 19th February 2023 11:59pm GMT. Entries received outside of this time period will be void and will not be entered into the Competition. Only one entry per person.

5. There will be one overall prize and one winner.

6. The winner will be selected by a judging panel which includes at least one independent judge, from all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions. The winner will be selected by the relevant judging panel between 20th February 2023 and 27th February 2023 and notified by email and/or telephone on or before 6th March 2023. The winner will be contacted by a member of the RanaVerse UK team, on behalf of the Promoter. The name of the independent judge(s) will be available on request by sending a correctly stamped self-addressed envelope to the Promoter after the close date of the Competition.

Judging Criteria:

    a) Submitting a completely unique and independent design for the Johnnie Walker Black Label bottle inspired by your own creative expression

    b) Both parts of the application must be submitted: including the creative design of the Johnnie Walker Black Label bottle and the application form. The application requires a clear description of the inspiration behind your unique creative expression

    c) Does the design feel linked to Johnnie Walker

    d) The design will be reviewed on creativity and originality of the design alongside quality of artistic composition 

    e) Describe the inspiration behind your design (not more than 350 words) 

    f) Describe why you’d benefit from the mentorship and prize? (not more than given 350 words) 

    g) The design must follow the template guidelines provided and follow the same shapes, sizes and measurements. All three panels must be fully designed and completed, making full use of the space available so the bottle stands out from each angle

    h) Applications must showcase high quality design with sharp colours and clear attention to detail

    i) Use correct spelling of words within the application form. Profanities or offensive language will not be accepted in the design or the application form. All entries using this form of copy will be void 

    j) Design must be appropriate to be associated with an alcohol brand giving consideration to the following legal guidelines:

      Design should only appeal to adults and never target those younger than the legal purchase age for alcohol.

      Depict and encourage only moderate and responsible drinking. Do not encourage excessive drinking or intoxication or dangerous activities. Always show respect for those who choose to abstain from alcohol.

      Do not imply that alcohol offers any health, dietary, functional, endurance or performance benefits. Do not imply that drinking enhances sexual attractiveness or helps in overcoming sexual or social inhibitions.

      Do not suggest any association with alcohol and anti-social or illegal behavior, violence or hate, drugs or tobacco.

      Good Taste and Decency: Reflect generally accepted contemporary standards of good taste and decency. Be sensitive to cultural perception. No swearing or profanities.

      Refrain from making any political or religious references.

    7. If the winner does not respond to the win notification within 5 days (in accordance with clause 6), an alternative winner may be selected by the same process as set out above.

    8. The winner will receive:

    i. A place on the Diet Paratha Family Tree Mentoring Programme sponsored by Johnnie Walker. The winner will receive one to one mentoring from industry-leading creative, Manu Pillai (as selected by the Promoter ) to support their entry/interests within the creative industries in the UK. The mentoring scheme runs across 12 weeks and includes 12 virtual or in-person mentoring sessions (exact timing and method of delivery of sessions to be agreed between the winner and the mentor). The mentoring scheme will begin no later than 1st August 2023. Promoter reserves the right to (at any time) change the mentor named in this clause 8  if, in its absolute discretion, Promoter considers it necessary to do so (taking into account the applicable circumstances).

    ii. £5,000 (GBP) (the Prize Amount),
    to put towards the winner's own creative efforts and studies, in order to advance the winner's journey into the creative industry.

    For the purpose of this clause 8(ii), the winner's "creative efforts" may include (but not be limited to) the following activities: hiring venue space; hosting events; hiring film and photography equipment; hiring office space; storage space; accessibility support; video editors; graphic designers; purchasing supplies; facilitating research or studies; promotional activities; and website creation and development (where, in each case, such activity is pursued in the context of winner's own creative practice). 

    For the avoidance of doubt, the winner is expressly prohibited from using or otherwise applying the Prize Amount (either directly or indirectly):

    a) in contravention of applicable laws;

    b) in a manner which is reasonably considered by Promoter, Ranaverse UK and/ or Diageo Great Britain Limited to be morally rephrensible or inconsistent with contemporary norms;

    c) in a manner which would reasonably degrade the Promoter's, Ranaverse UK's and/ or Diageo Great Britain Limited's reputation (and/ or the reputation of the Johnnie Walker brand) or which would be prejudicial, harmful, defamatory or embarrassing to the name, image, reputation, goodwill or business of the Promoter, Ranaverse UK, and / or Diageo Great Britain Limited (and / or the Johnnie Walker brand); and / or

    d) in a manner which could not reasonably be considered to constitute (and / or relate to the winner's) creative efforts or practice.

    ii. The winning design will be featured on a limited-edition manufacturing run of Johnnie Walker Black Label to be sold in Great Britain ONLY. Up to 800 bottles to be made for distribution across sales, press and stakeholder gifting, launching no later than May 2023 (This may vary depending on manufacturing process and delivery). Winner will receive 3 bottles free of charge.

    9. The prize is non-transferable and (where relevant) there is no cash alternative. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any aspect of the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.

    10. The Prize Amount will be paid in cash to the winner by RanaVerse UK (on behalf of the Promoter), such payment to be made by bank transfer. The Prize Amount will be paid in full and in one instalment, within 90 days of confirmation to the winner of their winning the overall prize (in accordance with clause 6). To receive the Prize Amount, the winner must have a UK bank account.

    11. The Promoter will use your personal information only in accordance with these terms and conditions and our privacy policy which can be found at The Promoter will only use your personal information for the purpose of carrying out the Competition. Where the Promoter is not responsible for the fulfilment of or delivery of the prize, the Promoter shall share your personal information with third party suppliers (RanaVerse UK and / or Diageo Great Britain Limited).

    12. Subject to paragraph 11 and without prejudice to the Promoter's data protection obligations under relevant law, the Promoter (as assisted by  RanaVerse UK), shall make available the winner's surname and county, and (if applicable) the winning entry, upon receipt of a written request (which includes a correctly stamped self-addressed envelope for such a response) to Ranaverse, Protein Studios, 31 New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EY (who shall facilitate provision of such information on the instructions of and on behalf of Promoter).

    13. Entrants to the Competition can, at any time (including at or before the time of entry), object to all or some of their personal information being made available in accordance with paragraph 11 by writing to However, the Promoter shall provide the information set out in paragraph 12 upon request from such competent authorities (including the Advertising Standards Authority).

    14. The winner may be asked to take part in publicity including press (print and digital) when the bottle launches.

    15. Submissions entered into the Competition must be original, created by the entrant and not copied from any other work or material.

    16. By entering your competition entry into the Competition, you grant to the Promoter and Diageo Great Britain Limited a licence (i.e. permission)  to use your competition entry for promotional purposes in any and all media throughout the world in perpetuity (or, where such a licence is not lawful or enforceable, for up to 50 years from the date the competition entry is submitted to the Competition), including, without limitation, on the Promoter’s publicly accessible website(s), Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds, YouTube page(s)/channel(s) and all other media whether now known or hereafter invented (“Permitted Purposes”). For the avoidance of doubt the Promoter may, without limitation, add a soundtrack of its own choosing to your Entry and edit/splice it together with other entries. If your design is the winning competition entry (the “Winning Entry”), you grant to the promoter a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty free licence to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, re-format, sub-licence or exploit the Winning Entry including (but not limited to) the right to tweak the design in order to fit the product template, in any media at all times without restriction or limitation.

    17. By entering the Competition, you waive the right to be credited when your competition entry is displayed and irrevocably and unconditionally waive other moral rights relating to the use of your competition entry.

    18. Entries that contain images of identifiable individuals or celebrities will not be accepted and will not be entered into the Competition

    19. You promise that: (i) you have the right to grant the licence set out in paragraph 16; (ii) the competition entry entered into the Competition is an original design created by you and has not been copied from any other work or material; and (iii) the competition entry entered into the Competition or anything within it does not require any permission from anyone else for it to be used in the Competition (including any permission to use the design for commercial purposes).

    20. If the Promoter suspects that any competition entry submitted as an entry to the Competition may breach any third party intellectual property rights, your competition entry will be discarded and will be disqualified at the Promoter's discretion.

    21. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw, amend or terminate (temporarily or permanently) these terms and conditions or the Competition with or without prior notice where it becomes necessary to do so due to any unforeseen circumstances outside their reasonable control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud or in the event of technical or other difficulties that might compromise its integrity).

    22. Entries that contain any offensive or inappropriate content will be deleted and disqualified at the Promoter's discretion.

    23. Entrants shall be responsible for all costs, expenses or liabilities associated with their entry to the Competition (and where applicable), claiming, receiving, using or otherwise applying any aspect of the overall prize (other than those costs or expenses which are expressly stated as being the responsibility of the Promoter, Ranaverse UK and /or Diageo Great Britain Limited in these terms and / or stated as forming part of the overall prize).

    24. No correspondence will be entered into concerning the result and the Promoter’s decision in all matters relating to the Competition is final.

    25. The Promoter and their agents accept no responsibility for entries that are not received for any reason or difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to this Competition and proof of submission will not be accepted as proof of delivery.

    26. While nothing in these terms and conditions will limit the Promoter’s or Diageo Great Britain Limited's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud, the: (i) Promoter; and (ii) Diageo Great Britain Limited (and in each case, its affiliate companies) will not (in each case) be legally responsible to entrants or winners for any losses that were not foreseeable to the Promoter or to Diageo Great Britain Limited (as applicable)  or to the entrant at the time of entry to the Competition or which are caused by a third party.

    27. This Competition and these terms and conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

    28. Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions by participating in this Competition.
